Redland Tropical Gardens & Botanical Foundation, Inc. (501C3), DBA Redland Tropical Gardens, proudly presents our first pilot project "Redland Pioneer Tours". As a tireless group of volunteers we are celebrating ten years of hosting national and international dignitaries who desire to learn more about our unique environment and our cornucopia of nontraditional tropical agriculture. This group of volunteers has put together a long term sustainable project that will showcase our area for generations to come.
All of these dignitaries throughout the years have commented time and again on how interesting, charming and knowledgeable every person they encountered was during these visits. Many have returned to spend their precious vacation time with us. Many have written wonderful articles about our area and us. We are no longer hidden like "a pair of dirty boots" but are showcased like the "Royal Robe" that we are. We are proud that the seeds we have planted in the last ten years are beginning to sprout.
We planned and planted for excellence. When Miami Dade College received its Four Year Certification, we assisted in writing a Nature Based Tour Guide Course through the college and directed the training of dedicated professionals to give our visitors accurate informationn in order to assure a learning experience rather than just a tour. Our Tour Guides are certified and we are operating tours every Saturday from Art South. For more information call Diane Cole, Executive Tour Director 305-247-5172. These tours are both the connection and the control necessary to prevent impaction on the environment and guarantee the Redland agricultural area can continue to do business and host visitors with behind the scenes tours of wholesale operations, while the retail activity enhances their internet sales.
We are missing one key element to make all of our dreams come true…and that’s YOU! Please sponsor or donate today. Be a part of this great effort to showcase our natural wonders, both wild and cultivated!
Sincerely yours,
Margi Buster, President
